Metro eliminates $2 SmarTrip card fee for seniors

Metro’s Board of Directors has approved the elimination of the $2 fee on Senior SmarTrip® cards. Beginning on Tuesday, Jan. 16, Senior SmarTrip cards will be issued at no cost to customers ages 65 and older.

Lake Marion sediment removal in January

In November, the water level at Lake Marion was lowered following a partial collapse of one of the toe drains in the dam. This issue was identified during an inspection conducted by Montgomery County, which is responsible for the structural maintenance of the pond. The lowered water level has exposed a sediment delta on the side of the lake closest to the Lake Marion Community Center.

The Living Grace Christian School Varsity Boys Soccer Team achieved a record of 11 wins, 1 loss and 2 ties this past season. Throughout the season, Captain David Sarmiento provided inspirational leadership from center mid with 15 goals and 14 assists (44 goals and 28 assists for his career).
