MV Independence Day Parade and Celebration

MVF Round Logo July 4 RGBCelebrate Independence Day in your community with a host of activities for the whole family to enjoy! Each year, Montgomery Village hosts a Parade and Family Festivities on July 4. Activities are scheduled so that you have plenty of time to enjoy the pools in the afternoon and get to that afternoon/evening barbeque with friends and neighbors.

Parking
Apple Ridge Road will close in both directions at 9:30 a.m. sharp. Plan to park before the road closure. We highly recommend parking at Watkins Mill High School, 10301 Apple Ridge Road. The parade will start at 10 a.m. sharp!

9 a.m. registration, 9:30 a.m. judging, 10 a.m. start!
The parade will feature fire engines, classic cars, community groups, eye-catching mascots and floats, music and more! You can find a curbside seat and enjoy your hometown parade! Participants register and line up in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints parking lot, 20020 Montgomery Village Avenue.

Enter the parade! Decorate a bike, a wagon or yourself and strut your stuff down Apple Ridge Road. It’s free, fun and a great way to show your creativity and community spirit. Parade entries judged and one award will be given in each of the following categories:
• Best Decorated Wheeled Creation – includes bike, scooter, skateboard, stroller, wheelchair, roller skates, wagon and motorized toy vehicle
• Best Costume
• Best Motorized Float
• Best Hand-pulled Float
• Best Marching or Performing Group
• Best Overall Entry – judged on the parade route – will receive a trophy
