The summer sizzle
This summer has been sizzling and stormy so far. At least we can enjoy one of our pools to cool off in, when the weather is cooperating.
As a reminder, trash and recycling are picked up from your front yard at the sidewalk, unless you live in the courts of Marston where you
would bring it to the curb where your park. No need for everyone else to bring trash and recycling out to the curb. Just place it in your front yard by the sidewalk and you’re done! Please remember that according to Montgomery County law, all trash must be stored and placed out for collection in a vermin-proof can with lid. We see trash bags out on the green spaces and in residents’ yards and not in trash cans, which is illegal. Don’t get fined by the county. There have been reports of rats in Maryland Place. If everyone used a trash can we wouldn’t have rats since we are not providing them with bags of food! For a complete guide to trash and recycling, please visit the Maryland Place section of the MVF website. There will be no trash pickup on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 1. Trash pickup that week will be on Thursday, Sept. 4, and recycling will be bumped to Friday, Sept. 5. Please be aware that Montgomery County Police have been patrolling Maryland Place and ticketing cars that are double-parked (parking behind cars parked in parking spaces) or parking in fire lanes. Don’t get caught! The only
area in Maryland Place to park legally is in a parking space!
Let’s all work together to keep Maryland Place a great place to live!
