July 4th Celebration/5K Race

July 4th Celebration logoCelebrate Independence Day in your community with a host of activities for the whole family to enjoy! This year, Montgomery Village will host a 5K & Fun Run, an Evening Concert and Family Festivities on this great summer holiday weekend. Activity times leave you plenty of time to enjoy the pools in the afternoon and get to that afternoon/evening barbeque with friends and neighbors.




5K & Fun Run

7:45 a.m. starters gun for Fun Run
8:15 a.m. starters gun for 5K Race

Start your 4th of July the fun and fit way by participating in the 5K Race or Fun Run at Lake Marion Community Center, 8821 East Village Avenue, for a fun or competitive experience.  Montgomery County Road Runners Club  (MCRRC) will be using electronic timing devices.  The first 180 participants will receive a race shirt (size not guaranteed) at check-in on race-day.

MVF/MCRRC will contact racers on Friday, July 2 with what to expect on race day.  Bottled water and prepackaged snacks will be provided for runners. 
Please note: strollers, baby joggers, skates, pets, and headsets are prohibited for all runners. The fun run is a non-timed event.  First male and female to complete the 5K will receive a trophy.

Registration Deadline: Thursday, July 1 at 5 p.m. No day-of registrations will be allowed.
Fun Run/Walk: $15/Village Resident, $20/Non-resident
5K Race: $25/Village Resident, $30/Non-resident

The Back Pages Band
10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Enjoy a fun-filled celebration at the Apple Ridge Recreation Area. Highlights include D & D Pony Rides and petting zoo, Axe Throw, BMX Slide, Ballistic Swing, 26’ Rock Wall, Four-way Inflatable Basketball Shootout, Field games and more. Food for sale will include Kona Ice, D’s Smokehouse and Pop-Up Poutine.
