July 4th Celebration logoCelebrate Independence Day weekend in your community with a host of activities for the whole family to enjoy!

This year, Montgomery Village will host a 5K Race & 1 Mile Fun Run on Saturday, July 2. 

On Monday, July 4, join in on a Parade, Live Concerts and Family Festivities. Activities leave you plenty of time to enjoy the pools in the afternoon and get to that evening barbeque with friends and neighbors.

5K & Fun Run

Saturday, July 2
7:45 a.m. starters gun for Fun Run
8:15 a.m. starters gun for 5K Race

Start your day the fun and fit way by participating in the 5K Race or 1 Mile Fun Run at Lake Marion Community Center, 8821 East Village Avenue.  Montgomery County Road Runners Club  (MCRRC) will be using electronic timing devices.  The first 180 participants will receive a race shirt (size not guaranteed) at check-in on race-day.

MVF/MCRRC will contact racers prior to race day with what to expect.  Bottled water and prepackaged snacks will be provided for runners. 
Please note: strollers, baby joggers, skates and pets are prohibited for all runners. The fun run is a non-timed event.  First male and female to complete the 5K will receive a trophy.

Family Festivities

Monday, July 4
Parade, Carnival Rides, Lawn Games, Petting Zoo, Pony Rides, Festival Food, Concerts

10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Enjoy a fun-filled community parade down Apple Ridge Road and celebration at the Apple Ridge Recreation Area. Highlights include 22' BMX Dual Slide, Ballistic Swing ride, 26’ Rock Wall, Sand Storm thrill ride, Petting Zoo, Pony Rides and more.

This high-energy cover band will get you singing and dancing to your favorites. 

Montgomery Village Community Band
12 to 1 p.m.
Come enjoy great lively music from your hometown band, led by Director Stephen Wampler.
