Private Property Maintenance
A number of communities in Montgomery Village have set standards for the maintenance and upkeep of private property. Those communities are routinely inspected and letters are sent to homeowners whose properties require attention. An important supplemental service of the community management program, available to those communities that request and contract for it, is Private Property Maintenance inspections.
Staff inspects, documents and follows up on visible maintenance needs on private property, then notifies owners of their responsibility to maintain their homes. If a homeowner fails to make needed repairs, he or she may be fined and/or reported to the Montgomery County Office of Housing Code Enforcement for further action. Through persistent notification and diligent follow-up, this program has successfully resulted in the repair and improvement of many Village homes in communities that have contracted for this service.

Note: Not all communities in Montgomery Village contract with MVF for inspections, nor do all communities require inspections.
