The Montgomery Village Foundation (MVF) is looking forward to the 2026 pool season, with most of the pools set to open later this month. This year brings several important updates, including the introduction of a new digital Pool Pass system and continued construction at Stedwick Pool and Bathhouse.

STEDWICK POOL AND BATHHOUSE UPDATE
Construction on the Stedwick Pool and Bathhouse continues to progress; however, the project has experienced delays due to permitting and winter weather conditions. Based on current progress, MVF anticipates the pool to open in August. This major project includes three components: main pool, bathhouse and community center improvements.

Pool replacement: The new heated main pool will feature eight 25-meter lap lanes with walking and swimming lanes, along with a 12-foot-deep diving well with a 1-meter diving board. A sun shelf with submerged lounge chairs (10 to 12 inches deep) will provide a relaxing space for patrons. The pool will include an ADA-accessible ramp entry. The heated wading pool will feature a beachstyle entry with spray and bubbler features. Six 20-foot coolbrellas will provide shade, and new exterior lighting will be installed throughout the pool area to facilitate nighttime use. Both pools will meet ADA accessibility requirements.

Bathhouse renovations: Renovations will include new flooring, lighting, partitions, doors and upgraded plumbing fixtures, such as toilets, urinals, sinks, faucets and showerheads. A new family restroom and reception/ control desk will also be added. Improvements extend to filter and equipment rooms, as well as storage areas. The current stairwell used for pool entry will be removed, and access will shift to the lower level at the existing garage door location. Upon completion, the bathhouse will be fully ADA compliant.

Main center improvements: Upgrades to the community center include removal of the existing stairwell to create additional storage, reconfiguration of storage areas for improved functionality and installation of a small front desk for staff use during rentals and programs. Additional improvements include new lighting, a drop ceiling and updated wall finishes.

POOL SCHEDULE UPDATE
In response to the delayed opening of Stedwick Pool, MVF has implemented an interim “Construction Pool Schedule” at https://tinyurl.com/mvf-pools to maintain service levels and expand access where possible.

Proposed adjustments during construction include:

  • Hurley Park Pool will remain open until 8 p.m. on weekends (instead of 6 p.m.) from June 19 through Aug. 9.
  • Lake Marion Pool will operate daily (instead of 6 days per week) from June 19 through Aug. 9, excluding select swim team B meets.
  • Whetstone Pool will operate daily (instead of 6 days per week) from June 19 through Aug. 16, excluding select swim team B meets.
  • All other pools will maintain their current schedules to allow for necessary maintenance.

Once Stedwick Pool opens, MVF will post a revised 2026 Pool Schedule that includes Stedwick Pool at www.montgomeryvillage.com.

NEW POOL PASS PROCESS
As part of ongoing efforts to improve access and streamline administration, MVF has launched a new digital pool pass system. Residents are encouraged to use free digital ePasses, which can be stored in a smartphone wallet for convenient and environmentally friendly entry. Physical pool passes will still be available for those who prefer them; however, a $5 annual fee per card will apply to cover production and mailing costs. The system is provided by Access Granted.

NEW

  • Residents no longer need a physical pass; digital ePasses will be issued and can be stored on smartphones.
  • Physical passes are optional and cost $5 per pass annually; they will be mailed directly to households.
  • Single-entry passes for guests and non-designated users can be purchased online at any time.
  • Policy update: To enter the pool, children under age 13 must be accompanied by a passholder who is age 16 or older.
