Members of Gaithersburg Presbyterian Church (GPC) are pleased to share the announcement that GPC has called the Reverend Joshua Henry Narcisse to become its next senior pastor and head of staff. He will begin preaching on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2025.

A native of Queens, New York, and minister of the Word and Sacrament in Memphis, Tennessee, Rev. Narcisse has served as Spiritual Care Director at Church Health, a faith-based healthcare non-profit. He earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in both History and Political Science from Howard University, and his master’s at Yale Divinity School.

Pastor Joshua, as he calls himself, says, “My hope is that this next GPC chapter shows up as Christ’s hands and feet in central Montgomery County, as a congregation that worships with joy, passion, curiosity and devotion, and that our neighboring schools, businesses, public institutions and non-profits might consider us their spiritual home and co-laborer in ministry.”

He brings to Gaithersburg experience gained in leadership and advising roles for a variety of organizations to include: the Presbytery of the Mid-South, the Downtown Churches Association of Memphis, PCUSA’s Churches Uniting in Christ, and the Memphis Youth Symphony Program. Rev. Narcisse has taught courses in Black Religion and Liberation Theologies, co-hosted an in-person discussion program on topics of spirituality, faith and meaning; authored a 5-week personal devotional series, and a monthly column for the Daily Memphian.

GPC welcomes all who are seeking a spiritual home, regardless of race, gender identity or sexual orientation. It is located approximately 2 miles from Montgomery Village at 610 S. Frederick Avenue. Services are held at 9:30 and 11 a.m., and the 11 a.m. service is livestreamed. For the service link, Rev.
