Germantown and Little Seneca Creek Walk May 2

The Seneca Valley Sugarloafers Volksmarch Club is sponsoring the Germantown and Little Seneca Creek Walk on Saturday, May 2. The walk has two trails. The 10km trail is rated 2A; the 6km trail is rated 1A.  The walk is on sidewalks and asphalt trails with no significant hills. The 6km loop leaves Germantown and meanders around 18-acre Lake Churchill before returning to Germantown. The 10km loop leaves Germantown for a stroll next to the scenic 505-acre Little Seneca Lake, which is part of the Black Hill Regional Park, before returning to downtown Germantown.     

The Start/Finish point is at IHOP, 20009 Century Boulevard, Germantown, MD 20874. Park in the parking lot at the IHOP. All walkers over age 12 will pay $4. Children under age 12 may earn IVV credit for no charge at all events sponsored by the Seneca Valley Sugarloafers. The start time is between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m., and participants must finish by 2 p.m. Restrooms are available at the Start/Finish point. Pets are welcome on the trail but must be kept on a leash at all times. Participants must clean up after their pets.
