The MVF Recreation Committee will be hosting an upcoming community meeting on the major renovation of Stedwick Community Center Pool and Bathhouse on Monday, January 8 at 7:30pm on Zoom. At this meeting the preferred contractor will present conceptual design options for the new pool and bathhouse. Residents are encouraged to attend to review the designs and provide feedback. The feedback collected will help to aid in the design process and recommendation to the Board of Directors.
The Stedwick Community Center Pool and Bathhouse located at 10401 Stedwick Road is scheduled to be renovated beginning in the fall of 2025. The newly renovated pool is anticipated to open for the 2026 pool season. The current pool features: a 25-meter pool with 8 lap lanes, a diving well with 2 diving boards, a shade structure, a wading pool, a grassy picnic area, and a pool heater that allows for an extended swim season.
The Recreation Committee hosted the first community meeting for this upcoming project on October 3, 2022. Staff collected feedback from this meeting, as well as through a survey, to help identify some of the key features that residents were looking to see in the new pool and bathhouse. Feedback collected was used to create the Request for Proposals (RFP) for the project. This RFP was sent to general contractors known to have experience in pool construction, and was also advertised in contractor trade publications. Two contractors submitted bids for the project.
