North Creek courts to undergo renovations in mid-August (AUG. 19 UPDATE)
AUG. 19 UPDATE: This renovation project has been delayed. Please check back soon for an updated timeline. We appreciate your patience and understanding.... From Aug. 6: Montgomery Village Foundation (MVF) is excited to announce the renovation of the pickleball and futsal courts at North Creek Community Center. Beginning in mid-August, the three dedicated pickleball courts and adjacent futsal court will undergo significant improvements to enhance playability, extend the life of the courts, and provide an even better experience for residents.
Originally converted from two tennis courts in 2020, the North Creek courts have become one of Montgomery Village's most heavily used recreation amenities. Thousands of games of pickleball and futsal have been enjoyed on these courts over the past several years, making this renovation an important investment in maintaining high-quality recreational facilities for the community.
The project will include milling and repaving the pickleball courts to create a smoother, more consistent playing surface. The futsal court will receive extensive crack repairs before being resurfaced.
Work is expected to begin on the pickleball courts on Monday, Aug. 17, and be completed by the end of September. The futsal court will have a shorter closure period, which will be communicated once scheduled. To minimize the construction impact to pickleball players, MVF is putting in four temporary lit courts at the Watkins Mill Recreation Area.
Residents are asked to respect all construction fencing and closure signs while work is underway.
MVF appreciates the community's patience during construction and looks forward to reopening the renovated courts as one of the premier sports destinations in Montgomery Village.
