Montgomery County’s Victim Assistance and Sexual Assault Program (VASAP), is seeking volunteers to assist victims of sexual assault and domestic violence and their families. Bilingual volunteers are encouraged to apply, and volunteers must be county residents 21 years old and over, have a valid driver’s license and access to immediate transportation, and able to commit to 1 year of service in an on-call, one 12-hour shift, or two 6-hour shifts per week.

Once there are enough interested volunteers, the program will provide mandatory training for the 2024 Winter session. The training will cover crisis intervention skills and specialized knowledge of the emotional, medical and legal issues that victims face.

For more information or to arrange an interview, call the Montgomery County Victim Assistance and Sexual Assault Program at 240-777-1355 or visit the VASAP website.
