Free outdoor concerts, movies and KidjAM all summer long

Summer is back in full swing in the Village, and Montgomery Village Foundation (MVF) has your entertainment covered! Our popular Signature Series and Community Series Concerts, Moonlight Movies and KidjAM Performers are back for music, action and fun for all ages all summer long. Bring your family, friends, neighbors or just yourself, along with a blanket or chair, and enjoy these free events from June through September!

The Signature Series and Community Series Concerts will fill your Saturday evenings throughout the summer with great music, rhythms and dancing to some of your favorite hits from the 1960s through today! On select Saturdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m., enjoy local bands at the Bowie Music Pavilion (aka Lawn Theater) in South Valley Park, 19003 Watkins Mill Road. Here is the Saturday line-up:
June 14 Community Concert: Unity Reggae Band
June 21 Community Concert: Go Mod Go!
July 12 Signature Concert: The Breakaways
July 26 Signature Concert: Philadelphia Freedom
Aug. 2 Community Concert: Garrett Mabe
Aug. 23 Signature Concert: The Reagan Years

MVF also has scheduled three Moonlight Movies to entertain you and your gang under the stars on select Fridays starting at 7:30 p.m. at the Bowie Music Pavilion (aka Lawn Theater) in South Valley Park, 19003 Watkins Mill Road. Here is the Friday line-up:
July 18 Moonlight Movie: The Princess Diaries (Rated G)
Aug. 8 Moonlight Movie: Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (Rated PG-13)
Sept. 12 Moonlight Movie: Wonka (Rated PG)

MVF is grateful to SERVPRO of Gaithersburg/Germantown and Frederick County for sponsoring this year's Summers at South Valley Park. Parking is available behind Watkins Mill Elementary School. There is a paved bike path leading to the music pavilion. Accessible parking is available for patrons who display a valid handicap placard or license plate. Please note that space is limited and allotted on a first-come, first-served basis.

For our younger friends, the KidjAM series is the perfect way to spend an hour on Wednesday mornings in July at the Apple Ridge Recreation Area, 10101 Apple Ridge Road. From 10 to 11 a.m. join our KidjAM Performers for music, laughs and fun! Plan a day of it: Come for the KidjAM fun, bring a lunch to enjoy afterwards, and then from there head over to the Peggy Mark Pool to cool off! Parking is available at Apple Ridge Recreation Area. Here is the Wednesday line-up:
