Ready, set, boo! The Jack-O-Lantern 5K & 1-Mile Fun Run is almost here

The Montgomery Village Jack-O-Lantern 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run is now just over a week away, and there’s still time to register for the event on Saturday, Oct. 10, at Lake Marion Community Center (8821 East Village Avenue). Advanced registration is encouraged and late registration is open, online only, through 7:30 a.m. on race day. Prices go up on race day, so register early to save!

Whether you’re planning to run, walk, or simply cheer on the participants, get ready for an afternoon of costumes, community spirit, and fall fun.

Race Schedule

• 1:30 - 2:15 PM - Packet Pickup & Late Registration
• 2:30 PM - 1-Mile Fun Run Start
• 3:00 PM - 5K Race Start!

Plus, take a look at the pumpkin-themed race swag, including a T-shirt (available to the first 200 participants), finisher medals, and sliders for our winners. Every participant will receive a finisher medal to save as a keepsake.

The 5K is chip timed by the Montgomery County Road Runners Club, and the top three male and female runners in each age group will receive a top finisher ribbon slider to add to their medals.

Award Categories

That’s not all. This is not your average 5K, this is a costume run. Participants are encouraged, but not required, to wear a costume for a chance to earn an award in one of the following categories:

• “How did you run in that?”
• Most aerodynamic
• “I regret this costume after mile 1.”
• Most Boo-tiful
• “I can’t believe that stayed on!”

Celebrate the season with this new fall tradition.
