At the October meeting of the Montgomery Village Foundation (MVF) Board of Directors, the Board adopted the Vehicular Parking Rules and Regulations for MVF-Owned Parking Lots. These rules and regulations were established to educate Montgomery Village residents on the expectations while using the different MVF-owned and operated parking lots, promote the safety and welfare of MVF parking lot users, as well as outlining the regulations relating to parking matters, including towing.
Beginning Wednesday, Jan. 20, MVF staff will start the enforcement at the Apple Ridge Ballfield Parking Lot. The rules and regulations permit overnight parking at the Apple Ridge Ballfield Lot only, year-round from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. That being said, restricted vehicles, including commercial vans, trucks, and vehicles; oversized vehicles; trailers and off-road vehicles; boats; inoperable vehicles; and unlicensed vehicles (as defined in the Vehicular Parking Rules and Regulations for MVF-Owned Parking Lots), are prohibited from parking overnight at Apple Ridge Ballfield Lot. At all other times (8 a.m. to 8 p.m.), this parking lot is solely for the use of MVF park users.
Later this month or in early February, staff will also bring enforcement measures on line at the other MVF-owned lots. These measures are being taken to ensure that the parking lots are available for all park and facility users.
