Montgomery Parks, part of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, invites residents to celebrate Halloween with a free, safe Haunted Hustle Fun Run/Walk.
The event takes place on Saturday, Oct. 31 at Black Hill Regional Park, 20930 Lake Ridge Drive, Boyds, and will feature staggered start times in 20-minute increments of 40 participants each to ensure proper physical distancing. Participants must wear face coverings for the entirety of the race. The 2.7-mile course starts at the parking lot by the Black Hill boat house and is a mixture of paved and natural surface trails. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes and can expect to spot spooky decorations along the trail.
“We all need to find new ways to celebrate Halloween this year,” said Kirsten Hein, Parks Activation Manager for Montgomery Parks. “We hope to see lots of people in costume at Black Hill Regional Park to participate in the Haunted Hustle. It's a great way to get outside, enjoy the holiday, and show off your costume!”
The event is free, but participants must pre-register and select a specific timeslot between 8 and 11:20 a.m. Due to COVID guidelines, drop-ins will not be allowed. The event is rain or shine. For more information or to register, visit www.montgomeryparks.org/pop-up/haunted-hustle-fun-run-walk.
