Stay up-to-date on all things recreation

There’s always a lot happening in Montgomery Village, especially in the summer months and the coming weeks as school lets out and camps begin. The Montgomery Village Foundation (MVF) Department of Recreation and Parks is the team responsible for planning and implementing the “fun” in the Village, as well as maintaining the facilities where the fun takes place!

In addition to the MVF website (www.montgomeryvillage.com) and our social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube) for all things Montgomery Village, there are now a few more ways to keep abreast of what’s happening specifically for programs, events, classes and facility closures.

Did you know you can sign up to receive the free monthly Recreation e-newsletter? Get this quick rundown of the coming month delivered right to your inbox! Each month we feature our Park of the Month, as well as upcoming programs and special events you don’t want to miss. It only takes a minute to sign up, and you can unsubscribe at any time. To start receiving the newsletter, sign up here.

Want to know if your pool of choice is closed unexpectedly this summer? We’ve implemented a new facility closure component to the website to make it easy! If you’re already online, simply visit www.montgomeryvillage.com/recreation/closure-information. This list is updated any time there is a change in normal hours for pools, community centers or events and programs. If you’re used to calling the weather hotline (301-948-0110, option 6), you can now choose an extension for a specific facility.

Would you prefer to check it yourself, or even receive notifications of closures? We’ve got you covered there, too! Download the free Rainout Line app from your app store and search for “Montgomery Village Foundation.” Add this as a location by clicking the star icon and click the bell icon for notifications (you can choose individual locations if you expand the list and click the bell icon for only the ones you wish to receive).

There’s a lot planned this summer to take advantage of, so make sure to use these new ways to stay on top of it all!
