| Similar to a municipality with a council voting on issues facing a particular community, Montgomery Village is operated under the direction of its Board of Directors, who are residents elected by property owners within the Village each spring. The Board of Directors and President meet each month to address issues such as policies, the operation of the Foundation and budgetary items while overseeing the continued well being of the Village.
During Board meetings, residents of the Village are encouraged to come forth and speak during Residents Time about issues important to them. Meetings are announced on the Foundation's web site, and the meeting dates and agenda items are included in issues of the Village News delivered to all Village residents.
Advising the Board of Directors on many issues are various committees. Many of these issues include the Village's environment, transportation and development, recreational programs and policy, architectural standards and the finances of the Foundation. Some ad hoc committees are focused on issues such as improving education directly affecting children in the community.
Although only homeowners can vote during the Board of Directors elections each spring, tenants are welcome to run for the Board or join any committee as a volunteer. For tenants considering long-term residency in the Village, getting involved is an excellent way to help steer the community and oversee the overall good health of the Village.
The Board of Directors meets each month at the North Creek Community Center, 20125 Arrowhead Road. Committees meet monthly, bimonthly or quarterly in various locations throughout the community. |
