Communities in the Village contract for unified trash collection services. Contractors and days of collection change periodically, so watch for news of changes from your community. Each community has standards for how trash is to be stored and when it may be placed out for removal by the contractor. Please note the following general guidelines:

• Trash must be stored in secure, vermin-proof containers. Typically, these are lidded metal or plastic cans designed for storing trash. Plastic bags, cardboard boxes and grocery bags are not considered vermin proof.
• Trash should be placed out for removal no earlier than 7 p.m. the evening before the day of trash collection. Empty trash cans should be returned to your property no later than the evening of trash collection.
• Recyclable material should not be mixed with trash. The trash contractors are prohibited by law from collecting recyclable materials.
• The trash contractors will not remove construction materials, tires, paint, hazardous materials, appliances or metal goods.
• Many Village communities have contracted for FREE bulk pick ups for each homeowner. Please contact your trash contractor if you need a bulk pick up.
