The Audit Committee advises the Board of Directors on the financial affairs of the Foundation. The committee meetings consist of volunteers, the MVF treasurer, the Director of Finance and Administration (MVF staff) as well as the MVF Board Liaison(s). The primary role of the committee is to review the Foundation's annual budget and year ending auditors' report and accompanying financial statements. The committee also has the responsibility of reviewing MVF's financial policies and making recommendations for changes to the annual budget format or to the audited financial statements. When necessary, the committee also holds interviews of perspective auditors. The committee meets three times a year on Tuesdays, at 7 p.m. at the Whetstone Community Center, and once jointly with the MVF Board of Directors on a Thursday in August to review the budget.
